  2. Number of black women with nice weaves acting as slaves: 0.


Society has been taught to associate natural black hair with nappy afros. Slaves in movies have nappy hair. Black women in subservient roles in movies always have nappy hair. So black girls with afros rarely see their hair televised in a celebratory fashion. These girls, as well as the rest of our society, have been inundated with images that associate this hair type with a subservient black woman, never queens, or models meant to advertise healthy, beautiful hair.
